Horrifics - Now FEAR This (2006)Now Fear This is a breath of fresh air in the terms of horror rock. Where as other bands go in a more and more streamlined pop punk direction, The Horrifics go the opposite way. The songs are catchy, but seem like they're meant for a thirty-five minute drunken sing along. Sort of like Danzig-era Misfits meet the Dropkick Murphys. Lots of energy, heavy music, great production and they're obviously really into what they're doing. II dare you to listen this album and try to get the chorus of "Scarecrow Fields" or "GO! GO! Godzilla" out of your head. Then again you could say that about almost any song on the album. Sure the subject matter isn't 100% original, it's got your usual stuff about horror movies, death, comic book characters and what not. But hey, at least they do it right. If you're into hardcore punk, psychobilly, the horror genre, you'll probably enjoy it. When i ordered it they threw in a bunch of flyers, pins, stickers, guitar picks and more, and they didn't even know it was going to be reviewed. I love free stuff. So go ahead and give them a listen.
