D'awww look at him, he's so cuteHarry and the Hendersons 1987

The Henderson family is out camping, on their way out they hit something in the road, it turns out to be a bigfoot, they think it's dead and attempt to take it home because it would no doubt make them rich. It turns out that he's alive, some slapstick comedy ensues.  They take him home, he ends up being part of their family, but then he escapes, the town ends up on a Sasquatch hunt, while John Lithgow tries to save him and convince everyone that Harry isn't some bloodthirsty killing machine. The whole thing is surprisingly moving
Why did they have to wait until 2007 to release this on DVD? This is hands down the best Bigfoot movie ever. This was made in the 80s when kids movies didn't suck, and they would have little kids swearing and such. So despite being family friendly, it's actually watchable and pretty realistic. The makeup effects are great, rarely do you even look at Harry and think of him as just a guy in a suit. For the most part it's a light-hearted family comedy, but the dramatic parts are believable, and the funny stuff never comes across as really cheesy.  I can't recommend this enough, if you want to see a Bigfoot this is the way to do it, and it should be less than ten bucks anywhere you find it.
