I have very little formal training, aside from Miss Reyna who was my art teacher in Middle School I was never taught many techniques for anything, so I was self-taught everything since then. I learned most of what I know about painting with acrylics from when I used to paint Warhammer miniatures in Elementary School. I’ve watched Sci-Fi and horror movies my entire life and I watch a lot of cartoons. I’ve also always been more into the artwork on album covers, comic books, T-shirts and what not more than classic artists, it’s pretty obvious in most of my work. I tend to go for bright colors that catch my attention, and I like to blur the line between comedy and gore. I didn’t decide to start painting pictures until March of 2009, it was all an attempt to impress a girl, it didn’t really work ,but I realized that I really love painting, I then got back into drawing, sculpting and well, art in general. I’ve had a few people compare my stuff to “old-school skater art” and have also been told that I have a “Cool, retarded Ratfink style” to stuff. Those were both great compliments as far as I’m concerned, seeing as I think both forms of art are hilarious, I’d rather look at something and laugh and feel better than see some realistic landscape. But hey, that’s me. I’m hoping you feel the same as you’re on a site called “Brutal Fattery”. No Snobs allowed. Well, unless they’re paying, in which case, carry on with the snobbery.
Favorites/Influences:
Music: GWAR, Dax Riggs, Conor Oberst, Elliott Smith, The Misfits (Graves and Danzig Eras), Pulp, Clutch, Slayer, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Municipal Waste, The Pixies. I pretty much like my metal to be thrashy and my rock to be faggy.
Movies: Movies with practical effects and little to no CGI. but lots of muppets, puppets and rubber masks.
Videodrome, Robocop, The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Strange Wilderness, Evil Dead 2, Halloween 3, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, American Psycho, Harry and the Hendersons, Ice Cream Man.
Favorite Director: David Cronenberg, his films don’t waste a second of your time and always blur the line between hallucinations and reality, the stuff is really moving.
Favorite Actors: Clint Howard, Christian Bale.
