The internet is dead to me and so are you.

Brutalfattery started out as a personal site with a bunch of cheap-o graphics and pages about nothing. I was raging on about how the internet was being destroyed by social networking sites. At the time Myspace was all the rage. in hindsight it was close to ‘the real internet’ than what we have now. The internet is drying up. No one makes websites anymore, thus the same few images are being recycled until all we’re left with is a blurry 90×90 pixel image thrown into a demotivational poster. That’s the internet.

At some point about three years ago I changed the format of my site and used it as a portfolio for paintings. It caused a lot of good things in my life. I’ve been treated as an artist, my crudely painted zombies, robots and skulls found an audience. I was hooked up with art shows, had strangers buy my stuff, and got treated like a somebody.

I guess I’ve been going through a mid-life crisis as of late. I haven’t painted or drawn anything in six months. All motivation has been lost. Guess I’m at a crossroads. I don’t have the funds to continue the website, not that I ever updated it anyway. If I ever get motivated I may start up another website sometime down the road. I won’t be using the Brutal Fattery name. That era is over.

Thanks to everyone who has bought a painting, bought raffle tickets, gone out to a show, bought a shirt, or got a free one while I was drunkenly threatening to burn them if you didn’t take one. It’s meant a lot.
